Fresh Kitchen www.freshkitchen.ca is 13-year-old firm that sells deli prepared meals-to-go, freshly made sandwiches, paninis and wraps, colorful seasonal salads and power protein bowls, plus an array of quick serve grab and go snacks prepared fresh daily. The Mara Loop location in Southwest Calgary features coffee, espresso, pastry, and gelato. Food offerings are made of locally grown produce, freshly baked artisan breads and pastries, amazing espresso from Chronicle Coffee Roasters, a local small batch artisanal coffee roaster, and a gelato bar with freshly made waffle cones, European toppings and treats.
As the former Vice-President of Operations with Sunterra Markets for over six years, the proprietor of Fresh Kitchen, Paul Morrissette, possesses significant expertise and experience in the preparation and provision of great food. Prior to working with Sunterra, Paul was employed with the Earls and Joeys restaurant group as a senior manager, where he assisted in the opening and development of three of their chain restaurants including the Joeys Head Office location in Vancouver. In total, Paul has worked in the food service industry in a senior management capacity for over twenty-five years.
Fresh Kitchen customers place time, convenience, quality, and wholesome nutrition at the forefront of their culinary decision making. The first location opened in October of 2008 followed by a second location in September of 2017 partnering with Fluor Canada in the southeast office campus in Calgary. In consultation with Fluor, Paul Morrissette aided in the design, equipment layout and menu deployment for their Fresh Kitchen Fluor Campus cafeteria and coffee bar. Fluor wanted to create a relaxing environment to act as a respite for their employees, by also offering breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings that were more focused on nutritious, made from scratch and wholesome food for their employees.
Fresh Kitchen is seeking 1300-1500 square foot locations in high density, high income suburban locations in the Calgary market. Future plans include locations in Edmonton Alberta. Extensive kitchen mechanical systems such as a hood are not required. The firm is also seeking locations in such venues as office & university campus and other institutional venues.
